Privacy
Hexdown collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and your play never passes through a server of ours.
In the app
- Motion. Hexdown reads your phone’s motion sensors to see your spells. It does that on the phone, while you play, and keeps nothing.
- Bluetooth. Hexdown uses Bluetooth to find the wizards around you and to duel them. Only the duel itself travels between the phones in the room: your wizard name, your moves and the score. Nothing goes to the internet.
- Your settings, such as your wizard name, stay on your phone.
- Hexdown doesn’t use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.
- If you allow your phone to share diagnostics with Apple or Google, they may pass anonymous crash reports and download counts on to us. We use them only to fix and improve the game.
Recordings you choose to send
Settings → Help → Record a sign for us records how you draw a sign, to help us tune the wand. Recordings hold motion only, and they stay on your phone until you send them yourself through your phone’s share sheet. If you do, we receive what you send and how you sent it (for example, your email address). We use recordings only to improve how Hexdown reads signs, and delete them when you ask.
Purchases
Hexdown is free. If it ever sells something in the app, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment, and we never see your payment details.
Children
Hexdown collects nothing from anyone, children included.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no ads, and nothing loaded from anyone else: the fonts and everything else come from this site.
- The rulebook remembers which pages you’ve watched, in your browser’s local storage. It stays in your browser, and clearing this site’s data removes it.
- Like any web server, the one hosting this site may keep standard access logs (address, time, page and browser) for a short time, to keep the site running and secure. They aren’t used to track you or shared with anyone.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page will say what changed and when. Questions about privacy: the contact will be listed here when Hexdown launches.
